This historic window is located within the conservation area of Roath, Cardiff.

The exterior paintwork, the primary defence against the elements, had long ago started to crack and was flaking away, allowing water to gradually soak into the timber and causing it to decay and rot. Both the casement windows and frame were significantly water damaged.

The works necessary to conserve the window comprised of casement replications, sill, mullions & architectural woodwork detail underneath the window sill. The architectural decorative detail is also a necessary component as it provides essential protection from the elements. The original glass was retained and new nominal heritage glass added on new replicated casements & fixed casements.
